Low pressure centred over southwestern Scotland will move slowly northeast this evening and tomorrow, bringing rain or showers to many northern and western coasts, as well as some isolated showers towards the southeast. Winds will be strong at times, with gales for some northern and northwestern waters. A ridge of high pressure will then build to the southwest with more settled conditions and lighter winds to follow on Thursday.
