Scriabin's 2nd Symphony from the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Proms

Elizabeth Alker introduces a week of highlights from the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Proms, featuring some of the festival's most memorable performances. The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of acclaimed conductor Paavo Järvi, is joined by internationally celebrated violinist Leonidas Kavakos for a powerful programme including Tchaikovsky's much-loved Violin Concerto alongside Scriabin's richly expressive 2nd Symphony.

There is also chamber music from this year's Ryedale Festival from widespread venues across rural Yorkshire as Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ New Generation Artists join forces in an exceptional late-Romantic collaboration; plus highlights from the International Sacred Music Festival in Fribourg featuring music by the 18th-century Venetian composer Galuppi.
