Suzan Mutesi’s journey from Uganda to Australia

Suzan Mutesi was born in the slums of Mulago Kampala, Uganda, to a middle-class family with two hard-working parents. Her household was made up of twenty people, and they shared a space that contained five bedrooms. In her neighborhood, there were few success stories. Fast forward, today, Suzan Mutesi is an actress, author and award-winning Ugandan-Australian fashion designer. From her humble beginnings in her home country of Uganda Suzan’s first book Unapologetically Black: Afro Sisters hit the stands in 2020. She has now written her memoir: “The Immigrant That Found Her Unapologetic Voice” and talks to Veronique Edwards about the book.
