Sierra Leone government defends safe abortion bill

Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio has backed a bill to unban abortion, among other sexual health measures. “At a time when sexual reproductive rights for the women are being overturned, Sierra Leone can once again lead with progressive reforms,” the president said. But religious groups have thwarted previous efforts to pass similar laws. So what are the chances that the bill will pass this time?
