Oakham woman who used to drink up to four bottles of wine a day now supports people with an alcohol addiction

Us Brits have a complex relationship with alcohol - we drink to relax, drown our sorrows and mark special occasions. But, as we know, occasionally things can get out of control. 45-year-old Lou Carlyle from Oakham used to drink up to four bottles of wine a day, plus strong lager. But, having been clean for 14 months, she's now supporting people in Leicester that also have a problem with drink. Lou now fears there's a big problem brewing with those who are drinking too much alcohol while in lockdown. Since March, there's been a 10% increase in the number of people being treated by the Drug and Alcohol Wellbeing charity Turning Point in Leicester for an alcohol addiction. Lou spoke to Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Radio Leicester's Jimmy Carpenter.
