Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Minute: On Argentina keeping abortion illegal

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Minute

Available for over a year

Argentina’s senate has voted against legalising abortion – which is currently only permitted in cases of rape, or where the mother’s health is at risk. The historic vote was held in the senate, after the lower house of congress narrowly voted in favour of legalisation in June. Thousands of people on both sides of the ideological divide came out into the streets of Buenos Aires and other cities as the motion was debated.
