The party that has been ruling post-apartheid South Africa, the African National Congress (ANC) just held its national congress. At the end of the five day event, its new leader Cyril Ramaphosa, who is widely believed to become the country's new president, pledged to fight corruption. ANC support in the recent elections has been falling as figures in the leadership have been embroiled in a series of corruption scandals. Lindiwe Sisulu is one of ANC's most prominent politicians and currently a minister in the cabinet. She ran for the party's top post, but then decided to support Mr Ramaphosa and run as his deputy.
