The Reading goalkeeper Vito Mannone explains why he had to return to Italy suddenly. Mannone returned to the Royals' starting line-up against Sheffield Wednesday after missing last week's game against Bolton. "It was very tough," Mannone told Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I haven't said anything so far, but my mum had a stroke. "On Tuesday I received the bad news and I had to rush home, and it's been very tough." But, despite the news, Mannone wanted to focus on how his side performed in their 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. "We wanted the three points and we searched for a goal. "I thought we played well, we kept positive, we kept patient, because they were closing the gaps at the back."
