the primeTime sublime Community Orchestra is a project devised by American composer Paul Minotto, with a cast of extras that includes Lee Sanford (organ/piano), Tony Macaroni (piano/keyboards), Luigi Minotta (alto sax/percussion), Tommy Gee (drums/percussion), Frankie Lane Ross (bass fiddle), Bob Donahue, Leon ‘ol’ Red Eyes’ Sinatra, Sally Fartsburg, Dick Castrato, Sister Mary Pignewton, Giuseppe Fellatio and Mary McGee (vocals). This track features a fragment of Burt Bacharach's What the World Needs Now, sung by a robot, and the Ken-L-Ration dog food jingle ('my dog's better than your dog…').

This comes from Elliott Sharp's latest album of collaborations, which he describes as a 'commentary on the state of things'. He has been working with Tracie Morris since 1981, and on this piece he gave her a rhythm track which he thought would suit her vocal cadences, and after she had completed her parts, Elliott cut and layered them with his own instruments.
