Hildur Guðnadóttir is the winner of an Oscar for her soundtrack to the film ‘Joker'
Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir is famed for her exceptional concert and festival performances but also as the winner of an Oscar for her soundtrack to the film ‘Joker' and an Emmy for the music for the powerful TV series ‘Chernobyl’. Trained as a cellist, Hildur has branched into deeply resonant experimental and electronic music. Her current project is working at the National Theatre in London on the production ‘Electra/Persona’ starring Cate Blanchett. For ‘In the Studio’ Susan Marling visits Hildur in her home studio in Berlin.
