Goodbye to Maida Vale Studios
After nine decades, the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ will leave the Maida Vale Studios this summer
A former ice rink in West London has been a hub for the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's musical output for nearly a century, but will close this summer.
Built to make a permanent home for the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra, the site has also been the home for Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ news output during World War 2, pioneered stereophonic broadcasting, made experimental audio through its Radiophonic Workshop and hosted hundreds of iconic music sessions.
The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Music Studios will move to East London, while a partnership including Hans Zimmer will take over the Maida Vale site.
