Januray 2007, Helmand: A Royal Marine is left behind during a gruelling ambush at a Taliban Fort, three volunteer Royal Marines and a Royal Engineer were filmed strapped and holding on to the side of Apache attack helicopters, flying straight back in to battle to recover their comrade, in a manoeuvre never used in battle. Brand new testimonies from pilots and RM on the record for the first time take us right into the reality of an operation gone wrong – telling the story of an audacious recovery plan which defied belief.
