Navalny funeral: 'No time to be a coward' says mourner
Speaking to Newshour, a mourner waiting in the queue for Alexei Navalny's funeral, who did not want to be named, said she wanted to pay her respects despite having political differences with him:
“I am not a fan of Navalny but I was sure that it is urgent to enter the funeral because it’s [a] killing. No doubt at all. It’s a killing of a brave and honest man who wanted a great future for his country.”
She said she attended despite the possibility of arrest by the authorities:
“It’s not time to be a coward. Those people in our government are cowards because they are afraid of us. We are only people with flowers and graves. That’s all. They are afraid of us.”
