Preventing Guildford from flooding
Just off the A3 at Stoke Mill in Guildford, a series of weirs help manage water levels on the River Wey between Millmead and Bowers Lock. Laura Curtis is the lengthsperson on call twenty four hours a day to ensure the river doesn’t flood homes, roads and businesses. Chris Howard met up with Laura and some National Trust volunteers at Stoke Lock.
