Martin Lewis shares his tips for getting the most out of Black Friday.
Martin Lewis shares his tips for getting the most out of Black Friday and how to not fall for empty discounts.
Speaking on his ĢƵ Sounds podcast, Martin says people should only be making purchases on Black Friday if it’s a “planned purchase”.
“We need to ensure we are buying things that we want at discounted prices,” he says.
“My big Black Friday memo is that if you were going to buy it anyway and it’s half price; great, if you weren’t going to buy it but do it only because it’s half price; boo, you’ve wasted 100%.”
Martin also says shoppers need to ask themselves some key questions before making a purchase, “do I need it? Can I afford it? Have I checked that it is available elsewhere?”
He shares his tips on how to do Black Friday ‘the Martin Lewis way’, “If you’re buying especially an item of a significant price do a price comparison first.
“There is a trick to get free delivery even if you don’t quite make it over the threshold.
“Haggling, obviously you can haggle in store but you can try haggling online.”
