Adoption breakdowns: Why I returned my son to the care system
We don’t often hear about adoptions that break down, but on Woman's Hour on Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Radio 4 former Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ journalist Eleanor Bradford spoke to Emma Barnett about her "heartbreaking" decision to return her adopted son to the care system. She had adopted the boy eight years ago.
Eleanor and Emma were joined on the programme by Sue Armstrong Brown from Adoption UK who said that between 3-4% of adoptions break down, according to their research.
