Brahms鈥檚 Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny) is a choral setting of a poem by Friedrich H枚lderlin, one of the most prominent writers in German Romanticism. The poem references the spiritual and earthly realms, and evokes images of nature.

Brahms structures the work in three sections, the first and third beginning with an orchestral prelude and the second reflecting the dark and sombre third stanza of the poem.

This performance by 蘑菇短视频 NOW and 蘑菇短视频 NCW took place at St David鈥檚 Hall in 2012, with conductor Grant Llewellyn.
