Donald Trump 'has gone too far'
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call to halt Muslims entering the US “de-legitimise him”, according to a spokesperson for Republicans Overseas.
Kate Andrews told the Today programme that even those people who felt Mr Trump was “sticking it to the man” would feel he had “gone too far” with the latest controversy.
In a campaign statement, Mr Trump said a "total and complete" shutdown should remain until the US authorities "can figure out" Muslim attitudes to the US.
“I’m pleased to report that less and less people are associating with his views,” Ms Andrews told presenter Nick Robinson.
