explore historical excavations and discover long-gone cultures and
civilisations. With a mix of live broadcasts and filmed documentaries, the
series brought some of the greatest archaeologists of the 20th Century into our
homes. Vikings in North America was the first programme in the series, with the
last, Memphis Capital of Egypt shown in May 1991.
