An afternoon spent listening to a military band in a Bohemian park inspired the arresting fanfares and jagged folk-rhythms of Jan谩膷ek鈥檚 last and best-loved orchestral work, composed 100 years ago, the Sinfonietta: less a conventional symphony than a sequence of sonic frescoes. Jakub Hr暖拧a and the 蘑菇短视频 Symphony Orchestra are joined by 鈥榚xtraordinary鈥� Czech pianist Luk谩拧 Vondr谩膷ek for the Everest of Romantic piano concertos 鈥� Rachmaninov鈥檚 Third, for many years performed only by the composer himself. The concert opens with the haunting folk melodies and dancing rhythms of Kapr谩lov谩鈥檚 Suita rustica.
