Adam's Young Farmers: Cumbria
Adam Henson goes to Cumbria to meet 27-year-old farmer Georgia Hunter, who with her father has switched from rearing lambs to keeping goats.
Adam Henson meets young farmers navigating the challenges and rewards of producing our food. This week, he’s in Cumbria with 27-year-old farmer Georgia Hunter and her flock of goats, which she keeps in partnership with her dad.
Whilst helping milk the flock, Adam finds out how the family turned to keeping goats after a bad lambing season. Following a series of setbacks, Georgia and her dad decided to turn their fortunes around by producing their own goat's cheese and soap. Adam learns that Georgia, because of her experiences, is now an advocate for mental health support in the local farming community.
Adam also looks back through the Countryfile archives, revisiting some of the inspirational farmers we have met from across the UK.
