Arguably best known for singing the song Car Wash - which sold over a million copies in United States alone - Gwen was also the voice behind Rose Royce hits like Love Don鈥檛 Live Here Anymore and Wishing On A Star. Rose Royce's debut album - also called 'Car Wash' - sold over two million copies worldwide, winning a Grammy Award along the way.
Gwen went solo in the 1980s, and in recent years has treated us to brand new solo music, with the EP 'This Is Gwen Dickey' released in 2024.
She still continues to thrill live audiences, and is playing the 'Soulstasia' festival in Reading on 14 August.
