Episode 7

Episode 7 of 10

When a woman crashes her mobility scooter down an embankment, paramedics are on hand to help. In Edinburgh, crewmates Kevin and Martyn treat an unconscious homeless patient.

Paul and Nicole of the Special Operations Response Team are called after a mobility scooter plunges down a steep embankment. The crew work closely with fire and rescue to lower a paramedic down by rope to administer vital pain relief to the patient. Thoughts then turn to how the emergency services can get the patient to safety.

In Edinburgh, teammates Kevin and Martyn respond to a 999 call from a concerned member of the public after a man is found unconscious in the city centre. They arrive to find that the patient is a familiar face - a homeless man with an alcohol dependency, and who is a frequent user of the ambulance service. Not long after taking this unfortunate patient to hospital, the team receive another 999 call - the same man has been found passed out in the street, having absconded from A&E. The crew now face the dilemma of how to best treat this struggling person.

Elsewhere, Inverness crewmates Jane and Lauren are called to Vivienne, who has fallen at home and cut her head. The team want to take Vivienne to Raigmore Hospital, but she is adamant she doesn’t want to go, having just spent eight months on a ward recovering from a broken hip. Jane and Lauren have to make sure that Vivienne is kept safe.
