As its subtitle suggests, this work highlights the human cost of US expansion, which resulted in hundreds of Native American tribes being moved, manipulated or slaughtered. In the words of Davids 鈥� himself of Mohican heritage 鈥� 鈥業t sings about the invisibility of the Native people鈥� and represents 鈥榤ore than a piece of music 鈥� it鈥檚 a reckoning, a remembrance and a call to truth through the arts鈥�.
