Elizabeth Alker introduces an afternoon of great summer music making with concert performances from home and abroad, including highlights from the 蘑菇短视频 Proms, plus exclusive recordings from the Verbier Music Festival and the Granada Early Music Festival.
On today鈥檚 programme, there is another chance to hear Saturday night鈥檚 performance of Berlioz鈥檚 passionate Symphonie Fantastique with the National Youth Orchestra conducted by Thomas Ades at the Royal Albert Hall. Sticking with the 蘑菇短视频 Proms, Rachmaninov鈥檚 Symphonic Dances is performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Adam Hickox, recorded at the Bristol Beacon as part of the 蘑菇短视频 Proms Across the U.K. series.
From Verbier, violinist Marc Bouchkov plays Bach, plus a trio of world class musicians, Pierre G茅nisson, Timothy Ridout and Sunwook Kim, join forces to perform Bruch鈥檚 Eight Pieces. Plus, the music of Nicolas Gombert in a programme of 'Music for the Imperial Coronation of Charles V', is performed at this year鈥檚 Granada Early Music Festival.
