The Trunk of Funk comes from Perry Louis, one of the UK's most respected DJs, collectors and champions of independent soul, jazz and funk.

For more than three decades, Perry has been a driving force on the underground scene as a DJ, producer, label owner and promoter. Through clubs including JazzCotech, and with his Universal Sounds label, he's helped introduce generations of listeners to rare grooves, spiritual jazz, Latin, Afro and deep funk.

For his Trunk of Funk, Perry has selected 30 minutes of the records that have influenced him most. It's a chance to hear the sounds that have shaped one of Britain's great musical tastemakers, from deep soul and jazz to heavyweight funk and beyond.
