Sean recalls Black Bob, a particularly intelligent dog from a comic strip.

鈥淗i Sean. You were asking what Black Bob鈥檚 storylines were yesterday,鈥� says Joe in Fermanagh.

鈥淵es!鈥� Sean says. 鈥淏lack Bob from the Dandy.鈥�

鈥淗e was a sheepdog looking after his flock,鈥� says Joe, 鈥渇inding stray ones鈥� but his other tasks were locating lost people as well and catching criminal. A kind of detective on four legs.鈥�

鈥淵es, I understand,鈥� says Sean, 鈥淏lack Bob would 鈥榳oof woof.鈥� The man would say, 鈥業s there a fire?鈥� The dog would say, 鈥榳oof!鈥� 鈥業s it over at McClelland鈥檚?鈥� the man would say. 鈥榃oof!鈥� What an intelligent dog!鈥�

鈥淣ever mind the intelligent dog,鈥� says Sebastian Dangerfield. 鈥淲hat an intelligent man.鈥�
