Alex Jones

Presenter Alex Jones joins Vernon to choose ten songs that have soundtracked her life, as she celebrates The One Show's 20th anniversary.

Presenter Alex Jones joins Vernon to choose ten songs that have soundtracked her life, including tracks by the late great Bonnie Tyler, Madonna, Elton John and Dolly Parton.

In a hilarious and surprising chat, Alex reminisces about her childhood family holidays and buying fingerless gloves to try and look like Madonna, before stories from her first TV appearance on the gameshow Prickly Heat and her first holiday with a boyfriend that didn't go entirely to plan. Then she tells Vernon about the audition process for The One Show and some of her favourite stories from the show, such as meeting Dolly Parton and a studio door causing problems for Sir Elton John. Plus, she tells Vernon about the songs that soundtracked her wedding in Cardiff Castle and giving birth to her first child.

From Ammanford, Carmenthenshire, Alex initially wanted to be an actor and studied theatre, film and television at Aberystwyth University. Whilst there she filmed a reality TV show called Prickly Heat in Magaluf before taking some theatre roles and working in TV production, soon realising that she was most suited to being in front of the camera. She worked in sport and children’s TV, and on Welsh-language channel S4C before joining The One Show in 2010. Since then she's also presented various other programmes and events across the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ, as well as taking part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2011. This month she's part of the team, alongside Vernon, celebrating The One Show's 20th anniversary.
