The French embassy鈥檚 convoy moves through Kabul, carrying Zahara and Mohammad - whom she had sentenced to prison just a year before -hidden in the boot of a car. Meanwhile, Isis prepares an attack against the convoy, and Fazal and the Americans race to stop it.
Vera is captured in the Taliban camp with General Hassan, and together, they devise a plan to escape. Amina and Nooria, left behind after missing the convoy, are arrested by the Taliban but later encounter a commander who unexpectedly decides to escort them to the airport.
At Abbey Gate, Giovanni, struggling to manage the chaos, teams up with Joe, an American soldier, to locate his refugees. In the turmoil, he rescues a young Afghan boy, only to realise the child has lost his parents in the crowd.
