Dvořák's 7th Symphony from the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Proms

Mark Forrest introduces a week of highlights from the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Proms, featuring some of the festival's standout performances. The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Elena Schwarz, is joined by violinist Alina Ibragimova for Mendelssohn's lyrical Violin Concerto in E minor. The programme also includes Dvořák's dramatic Symphony No. 7 in D minor and Bernd Alois Zimmermann's colourful Märchen-Suite (Fairy-Tale Suite).
Elsewhere, chamber music from this year's Ryedale Festival shines a spotlight on Schubert, with performances of the Death and the Maiden. The programme also includes highlights from the International Sacred Music Festival in Fribourg.
