Mark Forrest introduces a week of highlights from the 蘑菇短视频 Proms, featuring some of the festival's standout performances. The 蘑菇短视频 National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Elena Schwarz, is joined by violinist Alina Ibragimova for Mendelssohn's lyrical Violin Concerto in E minor. The programme also includes Dvo艡谩k's dramatic Symphony No. 7 in D minor and Bernd Alois Zimmermann's colourful M盲rchen-Suite (Fairy-Tale Suite).
Elsewhere, chamber music from this year's Ryedale Festival shines a spotlight on Schubert, with performances of the Death and the Maiden. The programme also includes highlights from the International Sacred Music Festival in Fribourg.
