The shooting of a 29-year-old American pilot at a remote airstrip in Indonesia's far east has highlighted one of Asia's longest running insurgencies. The killing this month at the hands of an armed pro-independence Papuan group came two years after a similar murder of a New Zealand pilot. A second New Zealand pilot was held for 19 months by armed rebels before being released.
