Music taking us beyond cultural boundaries with the 蘑菇短视频 Concert Orchestra and conductor Bramwell Tovey, plus a new work from Composer-in-Residence Dobrinka Tabakova.
Georgia Mann presents a concert recorded last Thursday at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London featuring a new work by the 蘑菇短视频 CO's composer-in-residence, Dobrinka Tabakova. There's also a piece by Tan Dun which melds ancient Chinese instruments, a modern orchestra and smartphones, and a 蘑菇短视频 commission from 2018 Senior Category Proms Inspire winner Alexia Sloane. Copland's popular Clarinet Concerto is placed in an international context and the principal percussionist of the 蘑菇短视频 CO joins forces with his transatlantic opposite number from the Philadelphia Orchestra for a reworking of music by Pat Metheny.
