With Penny Gore. The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra in a concert of Wagner, Marx and Strauss given at the Barbican. Plus the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Philharmonic in Pierne and the Ulster Orchestra in Bliss.

The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra begins a week of live and recently recorded music from Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ performing groups on Afternoon on Three, with a concert given last Saturday at the Barbican under conductor Jirí Belohlávek. After Wagner's stirring Tannhäuser Overture, soprano Christine Brewer performs songs by Joseph Marx, and the concert finishes with Richard Strauss's epic Alpine Symphony.
