From the Royal Albert Hall, London. Presented by Rob Cowan.
Edward Gardner conducts the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra, with the first half of the Prom inspired by the sun and nature - Sibelius's Night Ride and Sunrise is followed by two world premieres: Michael Berkeley's Slow Dawn on the rising of the sun and Stuart McRae's Gaudete, a 'life narrative' based on the epilogue from a collection of poems by Ted Hughes and sung by Susanna Andersson. A perennial favourite by Elgar concludes the programme.
