Rann na Feirste is situated on the west coast of Donegal. It is a Gaeltacht area famed for the richness of the Irish language which is spoken there. The storyteller Seán Ó Duibheannaigh (John Phadaí Hiúdaí or John Ghráinne as he is better known) was born in Rann na Feirste on 20th November 1920. To celebrate his birthday ĢƵ Radio Ulster broadcast a special programme on 20.10.2010.
