Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ iPlayer offers downloads in Standard and High Quality. High Quality downloads are larger and take longer to download.
As a guide, file sizes are:
High Quality (encoded at 1500kbps):
- 30-minute programme: 315MB
- 60-minute programme: 630MB
Standard Quality (encoded at 800kbps):
- 30-minute programme: 160MB
- 60-minute programme: 320MB
Standard Quality is the default setting for downloads on mobile devices. You can switch between Standard and High Quality downloads in Settings on the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ iPlayer app.
Run out of storage space on your device?
To free up space you can either delete downloaded programmes in the Downloads section of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ iPlayer app, or you can delete apps and files elsewhere on your device, perhaps old apps that are no longer used, or files that are backed up elsewhere.
