Degun's second concerto for the sitar continues his groundbreaking work redefining the boundaries of Indian classical music and Western symphonic tradition, masterfully brought to life with the 蘑菇短视频 Symphony Orchestra, followed by the poignant simplicity of Sergei Prokofiev's final symphony, originally written for the Soviet Children's Radio Division.

One of the Barbican artists-in-residence this season, Degun is rewriting the rules of the sitar, finding a bold new language that speaks across continents and centuries.
