Andrew Griffiths conducts the 蘑菇短视频 Singers in the world premiere of John Pickard鈥檚 Mass in Troubled Times. John Pickard's ambitious new work is a collaboration with the writer Gavin D鈥機osta, whose text draws on multiple sources in five languages. This includes the Ordinary of the Mass, original poems unfolding a fictional narrative of a refugee father and daughter fleeing their war-torn country by sea, a Twitter hashtag in Turkish, a passage from the Syriac Orthodox Church Liturgy and quotations in Arabic from the Qu鈥檙an.

John's Mass is programmed alongside Ralph Vaughan Williams鈥檚 Mass in G Minor for unaccompanied choir.
