Music from the French composer Gabriel Piern茅 makes up the majority of this programme. In addition to being a composer of great repute, Piern茅 was a noted organist and his compatriot Jean-Efflam Bavouzet will perform three of his works for piano and orchestra in the second half of the programme.
In the first half, the orchestra will perform Walton鈥檚 Variations on a theme of Hindmith; a special advance performance before they take it to the Royal Albert Hall for the 蘑菇短视频 Proms the following week.
