Can I take large items into the Ģ��Ƶ Radio Theatre and Media Café?

Any item that a member of the public wishes to take into the Media Café or the Ģ��Ƶ Radio Theatre must be able to pass through the x-ray machine to allow the team to verify that nothing has been secreted within the item.

For this reason please bring hand luggage only.

Does my ticket guarantee me a seat?

No. As our tickets are free, some people request more tickets than they need or are unable to attend on the day. To help ensure our studios are as full as possible, we issue more tickets than there are seats available.

We carefully consider how many additional tickets to allocate for each show and, although it's rare, there are occasions when more people arrive than we can accommodate.

Unless otherwise stated on the application page and ticket, admission is therefore on a first-come, first-served basis and entry cannot be guaranteed.

Unfortunately, because we can't predict when other audience members will arrive, we're unable to advise on an arrival time that will guarantee admission.

What can I take into the studio with me?

We don't normally provide cloakroom facilities, so we recommend bringing as little as possible with you.

Bags and personal belongings

At Ģ��Ƶ venues, you're welcome to bring one bag per person, provided it is no larger than A4 size or a standard handbag.

The following items are not permitted:

Backpacks
Travel cases
Laptop bags
Large tote bags

Please note that all bags will be security screened on arrival.

Mobile phones

For some shows (such as Strictly Come Dancing), you won't be able to keep your mobile phone with you during the recording. If this applies, you'll be asked to hand it to security before entering the studio and collect it again afterwards.

This will be clearly stated on both the show's application page and your tickets.

For shows where mobile phones are permitted in the studio, we ask that you do not use them during the recording.

Cameras and recording equipment

Cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in the studio.

What is the minimum age limit for shows or events?

Every show and event has a minimum age requirement, which is set by the production team or event organiser. This will be clearly stated on the show's application page before you apply.

The minimum age will also be shown on your ticket. If you look younger than the stated age limit, please bring proof of age with you to avoid any delays when you arrive.

Unless otherwise stated, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

We don't have information about when individual recordings will be broadcast.

You may be able to find this information on the programme's Ģ��Ƶ website. Alternatively, you can search the upcoming television and radio schedules at bbc.co.uk/programmes by programme title, channel, subject or keyword.

What is ticket validation?

For most shows and events, your ticket will tell you what time our stewards will begin validating tickets.

Ticket validation normally involves scanning the QR code on your ticket and placing a numbered sticker on it.

Once your ticket has been validated, you'll be admitted to the studio.

Until your ticket has been validated, admission is not guaranteed and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anyone aged 18 or over must bring photo ID, which will be checked alongside their ticket before entry.

Does everyone in my party need to be present for ticket validation?

In most cases, one person can arrive earlier and have the tickets for everyone in their party validated.

Occasionally, we require all audience members to be present at ticket validation. If this is the case, it will be made clear when you apply for tickets.

Please note that even if someone else validates your ticket, everyone aged 18 or over must still present photo ID before entering the studio.

Can I leave the venue after my tickets have been validated?

Depending on the time available and the arrangements at the venue, you may be able to leave after your tickets have been validated to buy food or drinks, or wait somewhere more comfortably until it's time to return.

Our stewards will let you know on the day if this is an option.

If you choose to leave the venue, you must return before the doors open time shown on your ticket. Anyone who returns after this time won't be admitted.
