Andy Brereton, currently a development executive at talkbackThames, is to join the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's In-house Entertainment department as executive producer, comedy entertainment development, Katie Taylor, Head of Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Entertainment & Events, announced today.

Having started his career in the industry as a Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ trainee within the Light Entertainment department, Andrew joined talkbackThames in 2005 where he either developed, devised and/or series-produced various entertainment formats including The King Is Dead for Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Three and Take Me Out for ITV.

Prior to this he worked as a development producer, an executive producer and a producer director at 12 Yard working on many entertainment shows including In It To Win It (Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ One), Coach Trip Series 1 and 2 (Channel 4) and Eggheads (Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Two) to name but a few.

Andy will be working closely with Sarah Edwards, Head of Format Development, with a particular focus on new comedy entertainment formats – an area Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ in-house entertainment is looking to grow.

Katie Taylor said: "I am thrilled that Andrew will be bringing his skills at working with comic talent and formatting gripping comedy entertainment ideas for Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ in-house."

Andy said: "I've enjoyed working at talkbackThames with some of the most talented programme makers in the industry, but it feels great to be returning to the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ who gave me my first ever job in television. I cannot wait to get started in creating some new, distinct and exciting comedy entertainment formats for the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ."

Andrew joins on 7 June.
