Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Tours has won the silver award in the Tour London Category of the Visit London Awards.

Some 50,000 people visit Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Tours each year to see the corporation's Television Centre in Wood Lane, west London.

Nine tours of the centre are held daily, Monday to Saturday, and a new CÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ tour has been introduced for children.

Tim Davie, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences, said: "This is a fantastic achievement by everybody involved with Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Tours and is all the more impressive when you consider that London has so many attractions to visit.

On the tours visitors are likely to see television studios, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ News and get the chance to use an interactive studio.

On the CÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ tour, children also see studios where CÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ presenters work and may visit the Blue Peter garden.

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Tours took the silver award behind the London Eye in the Tour London category. Last year the London Eye was voted the world's leading attraction by travel agents worldwide.

Tours last 90 minutes to two hours, and run Monday to Saturday at 10.00am, 10.20am, 10.40am, 1.15pm, 1.30pm, 1.45pm, 3.30pm, 3.45pm and 4.00pm.
