The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ has finalised its
first online agreement with ETtoday.com, a leading news website
in Taiwan, to provide news headlines and features from the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's Chinese
and English websites - bbcchinese.com and bbcnews.com - to its 36 million
users.
Starting today, Thursday 9 December, visitors to ETtoday.com will
be able to access Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ news headlines, features and reports in Chinese
and English provided by a global network of Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ correspondents and journalists
based in key locations around the world.
Raymond Li, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Chinese Service Business Development Manager, said:

"Together we will reach even more online users in Taiwan with
our high quality news and features."

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ programmes are currently broadcast on:
Shih Hsin Radio 88.1 FM in Taipei; Taipei Broadcasting Station
93.1 FM; ICRT Radio 100.7 FM in Taipei; and Kaohsiung 100.1
FM in Tainan.
Programmes can also be heard onÌýshort waveÌýfrequencies.
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World, the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's commercially funded, international 24-hour news
and information TV channel, is also available in Taiwan via the Eastern
Broadcasting Company's national digital cable service.

2000 and produces its own content.
It is the online news arm of ETTV which is owned by the Eastern Broadcasting
Company.
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World Service broadcasts programmes around the world in 43 languages
and is available on radio and online.
It has a global audience of 146 million listeners.
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World Service is available globally on short wave; on FM in 140
capital cities; and selected programmes are carried on around 2,000
FM and MW radio stations around the world.
