reassures DTT viewers
In
the wake of ITV Digital switching off its pay services the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ will
today broadcast a public information announcement on Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ONE, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ
TWO, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Choice, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ FOUR and Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ News 24 to reassure viewers of
its free-to-air services on the DTT (digital terrestrial television)
platform.
The
wording of the announcement is: "Following
the recent news about ITV Digital, the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ would like to reassure
ITV Digital customers that they'll still be able to watch all the
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's digital channels on their equipment, including Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ ONE, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ
TWO, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Choice, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ FOUR, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ News 24 and our two new children's
channels, CÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ and CBeebies. Other free-to-view channels should
also still be available."
The
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ is seeking to ensure that all the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's free-to-view channels
and interactive services will continue to be available to all digital
terrestrial viewers. The Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ believes there is still a future for
the digital terrestrial platform - where audiences get digital TV
through their rooftop aerials - and hopes the ITC and the Government
will be able to resolve its long-term future, in the public interest,
as soon as possible.
