World available in Ireland for the first time
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ
World, the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's 24-hour international news and information television
channel, is now available in 15,000 households in the Republic of
Ireland as one of the 70 digital channels on offer through the new
NTL Go Digital package.
Commenting
on the new deal which came into effect on April 2nd, Gerry Ritchie,
Head of Network Development, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World said: "We are delighted
that Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World is available for the first time in the Republic of
Ireland on the NTL Digital cable network. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World will offer Irish
viewers the very best in international news reporting, current affairs,
business programming and documentaries 24 hours a day. NTL are at
the forefront of digital TV in Ireland and we are happy to contribute
to the growth of this market with the addition of Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World."

During
weekdays, Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ World's schedule is built around comprehensive half-hour
global news programmes - on the hour, around the clock - containing
all the most up-to-date news, interviews, business reports, sports
results and weather from correspondents around the world. At the
weekend, the schedule combines international news bulletins on the
hour and a range of the Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ's finest factual programmes. Important
breaking news stories are covered in-depth at all times, both on
weekdays and at weekends, overriding the schedule when necessary.
Highlights include; Simpson's World presented by award-winning correspondent
and Irish resident, John Simpson, the hard-hitting interview show
HARDtalk with Tim Sebastian, a daily business news programme World
Business Report and the channel's flagship entertainment show, Talking
Movies.
