Coast: Walks
Dig beyond Great Yarmouth's bucket and spade image to unearth an intriguing past. Join our tour of what was England's fifth richest town to discover how you could walk to Holland and find out about its links to Nelson, herrings and body snatchers.
Coast: Mobile resort walk
Take our award-winning interactive walk in Great Yarmouth, created for the TV series Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ Coast.
Point 1 - The Jetty
You could once walk to Holland along the land ridge where mammoths roamed during the Ice Age.
Point 2 - Windmill Theatre
Discover the seafront's landmarks which include the country's first electric picture house.
Point 3 - Town Wall
The wall is one of the UK's best preserved examples, but it was once the town's deadliest enemy.
Point 4 - Row 114
Charles Dickens may have been impressed by the town's rows, but residents weren't as enthusiastic.
Point 5 - The Tolhouse
Rats, no toilets and hard labour were just some of the harsh conditions Tolhouse prisoners endured.
Point 6 - South Quay
As the world's leading herring port, the town's fortune was built on profits from silver darlings.
Point 7 - Market Place
The Market Place cobbles were once witness to the grisly antics of the town's body snatchers.
Point 8 - Britannia Pier
Britannia Pier is home to high spirits but it was blown in two during the war to repel enemy forces.
