It all started when the organisers of the Pebmarsh Billy Cart Grand Prix turned to Planet Ray for help with a bit of an issue over charges for their annual event.

Before we knew what was happening we'd entered a team and then needed someone to build a cart of our own. Fortunately, John Owers and his Scrapheap Challenge team from Southend came to our assistance.

Our team is now highly trained, well at least psyched-up and ready to race. If you've never been to Pebmarsh, it's worth it just to say that you've been there. Another beautiful part of Essex.

Here's another part of Essex that you might not have visited: Wendens Ambo. It's in the top left-hand corner of the county.

After several Roman artifacts were discovered underneath the M11 motorway, they've decided to give their summer fete a Roman feel.

We don't know much about Planet Ray Breakfast Show listener Gordon. We think he lives in Colchester and his partner recently celebrated a birthday, he also draws brilliant cartoons.
